ngehhnhhsph

So, I feel like crap. I have taken the last two days off sick with what I am only guessing is the flu. I spent my entire day on Wednesday sleeping, then today I made it of the couch to the recliner. Tried to sleep more, but 30 hours of sleep is apparently all I could handle. I watched some horrible day time tv and some Arrested Development. Damn you Fox for canceling that show. By the way I am feeling right now, I really doubt I will be in tomorrow, so I have another fun filled day of doing nothing and feeling crappy. So this is how loyal I am to my readers, updating between blowing my nose and sneezing.

McLeod Center fire

There was apparently a fire in the McLeod center yesterday caused by a stray spark from welding. There was minimal damage, but it was a pain in the ass to put out and created a lot of smoke. UNI says that it should be back open next week already. They will be working with their insurance and Cardinal Construction (the company that built it, and probably started the fire) to get things back together. I could be wrong, but didn't UNI just finally settle with the insurance company after a year and a half over the Gilchrist fire from over a year and a half ago? Didn't they say their deductible was like 2 million dollars? Well, I am just glad that this did not happen in basketball season. Speaking of basketball season, Stephen Jones, freshman guard this year is transferring. This is probably a smart move for him considering our abundance of good guards, but I definitely enjoyed watching him play, and wish him the best of luck where ever he goes from here.
The NCAA tournament is in full swing, games resuming today, I can't say I am doing well, but then again, I never really expected to.

change of domain name

We have changed our domain name from roddandkrystal.com to rkgrady.com as of last night. I set up forwarding so you can get here still from roddandkrystal.com/rodd, but you will need to update your links, bookmarks, and feeds, as the roddandkrystal.com domain is on it's way out. Actually your feed is probably already broken, so fix it! Sorry about being a pain in your anus. I also added a link to the root, rkgrady.com, as that is now being regularly updated by Krystal.
Krystal and I watched Borat last night, and most of the extra materials. Good stuff! I liked that they had a lot of the media coverage that they got on the DVD, it was fun to see. I have seen most of the deleted scenes and media footage before, but it is nice to have a good copy. Very Niice!

basement update

A while ago I updated saying the floor was all down, well, now the floor is actually done. We sealed it with this grout sealer, relatively cheap stuff at only $38 for per 22 ounce bottle. we also started cleaning up the mess, putting up trim, and moving stuff back where it belongs. We put some tile trim in the bathroom, so I get to grout again. I was just happy to be able to start putting the bathroom and my office back together.
Borat came out on DVD a week ago today. It is the number one selling DVD not only here in the U.S. and A. but also in Kazakhstan! Can you imagine how upset they will be when they find out that it won't play in their cassette recorder? I still have not found the time to watch the bonus footage, apparently there is 30 minutes of deleted scenes. Great Success!

John Popper is Ghetto

I just read a news story that I thought was worth repeating... John Popper, the front man of Blues Traveler was arrested last night when his Mercedes SUV was clocked at 111 MPH. He was not driving, but search dogs found that his vehicle had hidden compartments, which contained 4 rifles, 9 handguns, night vision goggles, a stun gun, and a switchblade. They also found a small amount of marijuana. The vehicle was equipped with a siren, flashing emergency headlights, and a PA system. John Popper, AKA "Ghetto John" claimed that he collects weapons, and that the modifications to his vehicle were in case of natural disaster, he didn't want to get left behind.
See the article here Upon further searching I have found that in 1995 he was arrested for driving a Jeep with expired tags, that also had weapons in it, and "squad car type equipment"

floor down

Well after only a month and a half the floor is completely down and grouted. We got the closets and under the washer/dryer finished up finally last night. Now we just have to clean everything up, seal the grout, put the trim up, move everything back in to the rooms, and then start on the next project. :) It looks pretty good. There are a few things I would do differently if I had the chance, but I am pretty happy with it. I think our next project will probably be redoing one of the bathrooms. We want to do both of them, so we will have to decide which gets the makeover first. For now I am just happy I get to put my office back together.
