random updates

I don't have a whole lot to write about lately, but here are a few updates:
-Still not done with our basement project we started in January. Kind of stopped working on it around February. Must be completed by labor day weekend (says Krystal)
-Started redoing Krystal's office.
-Water in our regular fishing hole is very high. Fish no longer like to eat.
-I lost 3 lures in the last 2 times I went fishing. Fishing from under a tree is difficult.
-John moved back to Cedar Falls. He is kicking it in his own place. I am very happy he is back.
-Brandon hates me. He is moving to DesMoines to get away from me. Congratulations anyway.
-Our lawn looks aweful.
-Work is extremely busy. Only 38 years or so til retirement. I am going to see if they are taking tee times for 2045 yet.

Fishing again

I went fishing for a couple hours with Brandon after work yesterday. It was quite successful compared to usual. I have not had a lot of luck at the lake we went to, but we tried a new spot on it, and the fish seemed to like our spinners. Check my gallery for pictures. The three you see me holding were each caught while on the phone with Krystal. Kind of strange, I was talking to her, and just kept getting hit, and of course having to say good bye so I could get a picture. Apparently I need to talk to her more while fishing. Might have to get back out today and see if it was just luck, or the spot, or the lures...

Photo updates

Tomorrow is Krystal's birthday. Other than that there has not been anything much worth writing about, but I did upload a bunch of pictures from Alaska. I have so many more I want to upload, but i have uploaded 83% of my limit for this month, so you are going to have to wait, just in case I catch a giant fish, I want to be able to post pictures. :) I will try to write little captions for the pictures as time permits.

Home Sweeter Home

I am back home finally, and it is glorious. The trip went really fast, actually the last two weeks have flown by, and has been awesome, but I am so happy to be home now.
We will have a ton of pictures shortly, right now we have to do some sorting. One nice thing about digital photography is you can take as many pictures as you feel like, and hope some turn out. One bad thing about digital photography is that you have as many pictures as you felt like taking. We spent about 15 hours of driving time going through Denali National Park, plus stop time. My sister is working there, so she was able to give us a private tour on a trip in to her duplex, we saw 2 pair of moose less than 25 yards away, one set we watched from that distance for probably an hour. Absolutely amazing. Then the next day we took an 11 hour bus trip through the park, and stopped for a while at Jenna's place. We got to see 8 or 9 grizzly bears, lots of carabu, a beaver, some fox, and a lot of cool birds.
I had a blast playing with my nephew. He is such a good kid. I am sure I will wright more soon, but I am really looking forward to sleeping in my own bed again.

Vacation update

I am sorry that I am not more motivated to post while on vacation, I actually have some decent stories to write about it, but it is not the time. I went on Ragbrai as a support driver for a few days and had a blast. I was very jealous the entire time, because I wanted to ride it so bad, but could not. So far it has not been terrible in Alaska for my knee. Alaska is absolutely amazing. You don't have to go far to see something beautiful. For us right now, it would just be the nearest window. There are some interesting people here. I am glad that I am an Iowan, but it sounds like I am going to have to convince Krystal to come back with us. Although I have not been making regular posts to the blog, feel free to come in and check out my photo updates. I will be uploading a few whenever I get some time.
