My awesome car

This morning on my way to work I noticed that the ABS light came on in my Accord. Awesome, I was really hoping to have more problems with this car! I call Community Honda in Waterloo and ask them what this means, if it is something simple like add break fluid, I am on it! Unfortunately, that is a completely different light. This one means that your ABS module took a dump, and that you get to spend $600 for the part alone, or drive without ABS. So, I now have standard breaks. Looks like I am doing a good job of driving this car to it's death.

Dad's Camaro

We went back to Dubuque this weekend to help with some yard work and to sell my Dad's Camaro. I have wanted to fix up that Car for as long as I can remember, and I have always been in to cars, so it was really hard for me to give it up. I finally realized that I can't do anything with it, and it will be a long time before anyone could, so rather than let it continue to rot, we sold it. It made me feel better about it when the buyer was local and seemed to be really excited about it. He said he would send me some pictures of the progress and stuff, so that was cool. He is going to do an all original restoration, because it has so many of the original documents with it. It was a really good buy for him, and I am jealous, but I am very happy that someone is doing something with it, and that it can make someone happy. :) I put a picture of it in my gallery, and I am sure I will be putting up some better ones as soon as I get them off my mom's camera. Dad got this 68 Camaro RS brand new when he was 18 from his grandpa. He had all kinds of stories about it. I remember being picked up from grade school in it, and I remember how happy I was to drive it when we got it running several years back. The guy that bought it has a lot of work ahead of him. It is in pretty sore shape. I look forward to seeing it again!

calendar and Fantasy Football

Today at work I noticed that the calendar on my wall was still on June. Yes I have a paper calendar, and yes, June. I think that means I get more vacation.

Football season officially started last night. Once again I will be participating in Fantasy Football. I am quite excited for this, and even more excited for college basketball season to start.

working, followed by working

Work has been crazy these last 4 weeks. It seems that if I finish one thing, I have 3 more calls about other things that need to be done.
After work these last couple weeks I have had plenty to do at home also. We had some family in town over Labor Day weekend, so we had to get everything looking good again. It had been a while. :) Then this week I got to spend way too much time trying to fix a running toilet. I replaced the part that I thought was the problem, but it still ran, so I basically replaced everything, which typically is still a quick job, but the bolts that hold the tank on to the bowl were so corroded that I ended up having to cut the nuts off the bolts to get them out. This was bad in all ways except that it gave me another excuse to get a Dremel. I had one years ago, but it's motor died, then I got a battery powered one, (even when new the battery lasted about 4 minutes) but that now lasts about 2 revolutions. Cutting the bolts sucked, but it got the job done, and we once again have a functional toilet on each floor.
