cyclist vs. truck

Yesterday Krystal and I went with John to Walmart to look at HD-DVDs. (they had like 4.) On the way there we got to see a guy on a bicycle get run over by a truck, right in front of us. The guy on the bike was casually riding across the street when the guy in the truck decided it was his turn, and it sounded like he floored it. Well, he floored the bike. When I walked up, they were trying to pry the bike from under the truck. Took a small chunk out of the plastic bumper. The cyclist says he was fine, and was actually apologetic. Dude, you just got hit by a truck. On the way back from Walmart we noticed the bike still leaning on a bench, but now the handle bars were straightened a bit. This raised the question, did the guy with the truck give him a ride, or did he have to walk, and if the guy in the truck gave him a ride, why did they not put the bike in the truck?

Bags, football, and a window

This weekend Pete hosted a yard-gating party for the UNI game. Thanks to comcast for not actually getting the broadcast to us. We enjoyed the game on the radio though, and got to play some bags during the game. UNI is doing great. Go Panthers! I threw together a set of bags for our tailgating and yard party enjoyment. I am going to have to re-make the bags, because they are not sufficiently sturdy, but it was a good time. Making the boards, I remembered how much it sucks to cut a circle. So I have something that looks similar to a circle. :)
Today I tore out one of our rotted windows. This was the worst one by far, the frame had rotted away entirely. I made a lot more work for myself than I would have needed to, but it turned out well, and I planned on it taking forever, because everything does. One down, 3 to go.

Homecoming week

Last weekend I went paint balling with a bunch of friends. I had a blast. We drug a ton of junk metal down to the field so that we would be able to move around more. It made quite a difference. I have been pretty burned out lately, so I decided to take some time off to unwind this week. Today I took the whole day off, then half days for the remainder of the week. Today was great. I need to do this more often. I slept in, mowed the lawn, changed Krystal's oil, chipped out a window, and changed my breaks. Nice "day off." I called around to see if I could find a ticket to the UNI homecoming game, but they are officially sold out. I guess I will have to settle with a little tailgating. Go Panthers!

Windows update

Krystal and I decided it was time to replace our rotted windows in our basement and upstairs bathroom. I have not even gotten to the point where I can order the windows and I am already tired of it. I love how home improvement projects always take 5 times as long as I expect.
