UNI weekend and beyond

Last weekend I got to see 3 UNI basketball games, and one UNI football game. This was awesome. We won all of them, because we rule, but now, 3 days later, I feel like a kid that just ran out of Halloween candy. I had all of this at once, and it was great, then all of a sudden, nothing. I take some comfort in knowing that this Saturday I get to tailgate and go to see UNI finish off their perfect season, but the next home basketball game is not until December 1! I think that once high school basketball starts I might have to start going to the Cedar Falls High games. UNI is recruiting a Center, Austin Pehl. It will be fun to see him before he comes here. Most likely he will redshirt his first year here, and then go on scholarship.
Chris Parsons, a former UNI safety recently was kicked off the team. It has now been made public that he has been prescribing Vicoden for himself. Apparently this is frowned upon. Apparently he is also not a doctor.

Zippy's BBQ is my new favorite place to eat

John and I went to Zippy's BBQ today for lunch. It quickly became my favorite place to eat, or maybe I should say to get food. It is a drive-thru BBQ shack right off Main St. in Cedar Falls. John and I have been meaning to go there since they opened, I am not sure what took us so long, but I am pretty sure this will have to be a weekly thing. They have a fantastic menu, lots to choose from, good prices, and the food is unreal. I am trying to decide if I should just work my way down the menu, or be more discriminate in choosing my next meal. Anyway, if anyone wants to give it a try, let me know, I need an excuse!
This weekend is going to be awesome. There is a basketball tournament at UNI, so I get to go to 3 UNI basketball games, and there is a big UNI football game Saturday. :) Doesn't get much better than that! Krystal's family are all coming to town for her dad's birthday and to go to the game on Saturday. I am really looking forward to it.

UNI basketball game

Last night was UNI's first basketball game this season. It was really fun getting back in the McLeod center to see them play. Some good freshmen it looks like. They were really rotating people in and out, giving people a chance to get some playing time. Eric Coleman did not start, which surprised me. I think that may be the first time ever... There have been a lot of injuries on the team, and the way we started the game I was very concerned that it was going to be rough, but they really came together, and looked good towards the end of the game. I am really looking forward to this season. I also found out that wifi is available, so I may do some real time updates, depending on how dorky I feel like looking.
